Max Pittion is a storied eyewear brand from France, recently revived by The Light Co. under the direction of Tommy O’Gara and in collaboration with Max’s son, Bernard Pittion. The relaunch blends timeless design with sustainable Japanese craftsmanship, staying true to the brand’s rich heritage.

Founded in the post-war era in Oyonnax, France, Max Pittion transformed his family's comb-making workshop into one of the world’s most respected eyewear houses. Known for bold silhouettes and exquisite color palettes, his designs were favored by artists, tastemakers, and film icons. Among his many achievements, Max also founded the renowned SILMO eyewear fair in 1967. Today, each Max Pittion frame is handcrafted in Japan using plant-based cellulose acetate and traditional tools, preserving the spirit of the original while reimagining it for a new generation.
