Bangkok in three words:
Bangkok! If I had to wrap this city up in just three words, I’d go with diverse, bustling, and cultural. You feel it in the streets, from the vibrant markets to the ancient temples – it’s a city that’s alive and kicking, and man, do I love it!
Three best things to do in Bangkok:
So, what’s on the to-do list in Bangkok? One word: eat! Nah, that’s too simple. Let’s make it three: eat, eat, eat! It’s all about restaurant hopping and trying out all the divine street food you can get your hands on. And when you’re not munching away, hit the night markets for some epic shopping or pop into a mall if you fancy something more upscale. And after all the retail therapy, nothing beats a soothing session at one of the city’s many spas.
Your one day in Bangkok from morning to night and what do you wear:
If you’re wondering how a typical day looks like for me in Bangkok, it starts bright and early with a refreshing walk at Nong Bon Lake, my dogs happily trotting beside me. If I’m in a more adventurous mood, I’d swap the walk for a cycling session at Bang Kra Chao. Then it’s time to unwind with a quiet lunch at a riverside restaurant – nothing like a cold beer to go with the view!
Once the sun’s past its peak, I head out for some grocery shopping. Hey, a girl’s gotta eat, right? Plus, I often have friends coming over for dinner, and there’s nothing like a home-cooked meal to catch up over.
As for what I’m wearing, a pair of lightweight MYKITA Polarized sunglasses are a must for those morning walks or cycling sessions, switching to my Photochromic lenses later in the day.
Favorite Destination Outside of Bangkok:
Now, Bangkok’s amazing, but sometimes you just need a quick escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. When that feeling hits, I head to Kanchanaburi. It’s a haven of nature and waterfalls and just what the doctor ordered for a city detox.
What would be an essential tip for travellers in Bangkok:
Lastly, a piece of advice if you’re heading to Bangkok: don’t just come for a couple of days. To get the full Bangkok – or rather, the Thailand experience – you need to spend at least ten days here. Trust me, once you’ve explored the mountains, soaked up the sun on the beach, and got lost in the city’s charm, you’ll see exactly what I mean.
So, pack your bags, grab your sunnies, and get ready to dive headfirst into the captivating world that is Bangkok!
